Social Media, Technology, Healthcare, & Commercial Real Estate

On March 15, 2011, I will be one of the guest speakers at the 2011 Interface Healthcare Real Estate Symposium being held at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center in Manhattan.  Additionally, I will be moderating a group of panelists discussing the latest technologies used today in association with social media and marketing strategies for leasing and sales designed for healthcare real estate endavors.  Joining me on this panel will be Chris Drewes, Partner with Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, Jeff Oram, Director of National Office and Industrial Properties Group with Marcus and Millichap, Travis Tucker, Sr. Leasing with Duke Realty Corporation, and Christopher Montello, Chief Operating Officer with ProMed Properties, Inc.

This month’s article will illustrate, by example, the power of social media and how it can be integrated into your own business moving forward.  This article will be displayed during the symposium and will then be a blog entry after it is emailed to my personalized PR list consisting of over 900 people.  If you notice the hyperlinks included in the above paragraph, I have given a “marketing plug” for everyone who was kind enough to volunteer to speak at the Interface Conference on this topic, thereby demonstrating the power of today’s technology and social medial to send messages effortless and more affordably than ever before.

During the event, I am going to take this example one step further by logging into LinkedIn and tying this article to various groups I happen to be a member of, thus exponentially sending this one message further down the line.  I will show how to access my twitter account and establish a link for all the followers on that account.

Additionally, on March 23rd, I will be hosting a live webinar for over 450 brokers who work for various NAI affiliates around the country to help motivate and train them to embrace social media in their marketplace, as I have done in my local marketplace.  I will use this article, yet again, as an example of the power of technology available today.  I like to call this type of marketing ‘indirect marketing’ which costs nothing other than some of my time.  Being an entrepreneur, I try to spend my time as wisely as possible; allowing me to get the greatest “bang for the buck.”  Given the NAI platform of worldwide access with local market expertise, this takes the entire networking concept into the 21st century.  I am proud to be spearheading this phenomenon which will turn a lot of heads in the commercial real estate industry.  You may as well hop on the bandwagon or you will feel like you were left behind in the dark.

Introducing: NJCREA-Healthcare

Many of my readers are familiar with the New Jersey Commercial Real Estate Alliance (www.njcrea.com), an organization I co-founded with twelve (12) other long-standing firms doing business in the state of NJ that have a focus on commercial real estate.  I am pleased to make the first public acknowledgment that NJCREA has begun to roll out phase II of its endeavors, which is to create spin-offs into much more focused areas of concentration.  The first spin-off, which I will be spearheading, will focus on healthcare related transactions.  On Wednesday, March 2nd, I hosted the first meeting which had nine firms with a niche for healthcare related business.  I want to share with you the initial members of this rare and powerful group of professionals:

As a licensed nursing home administrator(N Y and NJ) and a solar energy consultant,I applaud your the connection you are creating.I have just completed a certificate program in sustainability at FDU and have acquired an appreciation for how critical social media has become in the real estate and healthcare fields.Any suggestions you have to help me connect with commercial interests who can benefit from solar projects and sustainability will be helpful.Since we all share the same planet,we are all responsible to help create the right environment.I would love to become part of your dream.
